Who Are We

Teacher’s Friend Vietnam is a small dedicated team, with a large network at its disposal. English teachers work together with Vietnamese people to share their knowledge and experience in order to provide the best service possible. Here are some of the members of the team:

Teaching Specialist- All things Vietnam!

Hey there! I am so glad that you are on this page and want to know more about the amazing company which is Teacher’s Friend Vietnam. Moving to Vietnam was one of the scariest and most incredible experiences of my life. It has changed who I am and what I want to do with my life forever, in the best way possible.

I went from genuinely not wanting to go out on my own and vowing to never ride a motorbike, to offering teacher training, supporting new ex-pats and doing a three month motorbike trip from Hanoi all the way to Ho Chi Minh, the Mekong Delta and Phu Quoc Island!

So you’re ready to move to the other side of the world to teach the crazy English language to eager Vietnamese students, who are all ready to be your friend, shower you with affection and show you the magic of Vietnam?

What about the visa? Which one do I need? Who provides it? Do I have to pay? Can I enter on a tourist visa? Let me take away your stress.

Where do I go when I first arrive? Where can I eat? Where can I drink? Where should I stay? Can I get a city tour? Get shown around by a local!

What’s the difference between a school and a language centre? Pay scales? Hours? What  are the students like? What resources are there? I’ve got the answers.

What should I look for in an apartment? How do I know what to pay? How can I trust the landlord? Will they help me when I need it? Am I in a suitable area? I can help.

Is it safe for me to ride a motorbike? Do I need a license? How can I stay safe? Where can I buy one? What should I look for when buying a motorbike? How can I find a reliable mechanic? I have all the contacts.

How do I speak basic Veitanemse? Where should I get lessons? How much should I pay? What’s the best way to learn? Where can I practise regularly? I know.

What about travel? Where should I go? What should I see? How should I get there? What should it cost? I’ve done it.

What should I budget, can I do a language exchange, what should I bring, what documents do I need, what about insurance?

Alex Sinclair

Alex Sinclair

Chief Advisor

This is Alex and he is the founder of Teacher’s Friend Vietnam. He knows exactly what it’s like to uproot and move to a different country, the stress of sorting out your visa and work permit, the hassle of trying to find a descent place to live in a country where English isn’t the first language, the annoyance of paying too much for a motorbike only to find that it doesn’t even work, the apprehension you feel right before your interview, demo class, first teaching lesson and observed class. He created a solution where you would have access to VALUABLE CONTACTS right at your fingertips. He had a vision where we deal with the logistics and the boring stuff, and you get to do all the FUN STUFF. He wants you to JET OFF on a trip to Mai Chau for a RELAXING break, or cruise around Halong Bay in STYLE. Visit Hoi An or DaNang and enjoy the BEACH or go TREKKING in Sapa. Try out an ADVENTURE sport in Dalat, all through our trusted travel agent.

He did the hard work, so you don’t have to.

She loves meeting new people and making new friends and is extremely sociable.
